EMDR Intensives *
I work with people who want to understand themselves better and make sense of patterns that keep repeating, perhaps in the context of recent life events or broader life transitions. I help people to understand how their current difficulties might connect with their early experiences in order to help them have better relationships, feel more energised, enjoy their work and generally to have a meaningful life.
I have specialist training in trauma and can use EMDR to help people process difficult experiences, whether these involve a specific event, such as an accident, a difficult birth or an assault, or more longstanding relational difficulties that have affected someone’s sense of self. I integrate EMDR with IFS so I can provide a gentle, relational approach that supports meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable. I offer EMDR Intensives for people who would like to focus on specific therapeutic goals over a more concentrated period of time.
I have a background in working with children and adolescents in NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). As a parent myself, I also understand some of the challenges that can come with parenting, and I offer support to parents as well as working directly with children and young people.
Hi, I’m Anna…
Dr Anna Chalmers-Brown, Clinical Psychologist and EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner
I work with adults, adolescents and children online and in Mill Hill, north London.
I can help with:
Processing specific traumatic events, including through EMDR Intensives.
Anxiety, feeling constantly on edge or struggling to switch off.
Relationship difficulties and patterns rooted in early experiences.
Parenting challenges and the emotional demands of family life.
Perfectionism, imposter syndrome and people-pleasing.
Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure how to move forward.
Sessions are usually weekly or fortnightly and are 50 minutes long. I also offer Intensives in blocks of three hours for more focused work.
As a Clinical Psychologist I have a broad training in various modalities and client groups. My approach has become increasingly specialised with an integration of EMDR and IFS at its core.
